A study presented at the Obesity Society's meeting in Phoenix this month found that they create more mental barriers that keep them from exercising than normal or underweight women. Researchers from the Center for Obesity Research and Education and the kinesiology department at Temple University in Philadelphia surveyed 105 overweight and obese women and 173 normal and underweight women in a home-based exercise promotion trial.

Steroids help in quicker recovery from pneumonia
Steroids often used in treating inflammation caused by bacterial meningitis also speed up recovery from pneumonia, according to a new study. University of Texas (UT) Southwestern researchers have showed that mice infected with a type of severe bacterial pneumonia and subsequently treated with steroids and antibiotics recovered faster, with far less inflammation in their lungs than mice treated with antibiotics alone.
